A concept for drone-based inspection of railway track and overhead electrical equipment (OHE) for Indian Railways.
Idea
Railway track and overhead lines are inspected largely by hand, which is slow and puts people near live equipment. AeroIQ proposes drones that capture track and OHE imagery and flag defects with computer vision.
Approach
- Drone flights along the line capture high-resolution imagery of track and OHE.
- Vision models detect likely defects and anomalies.
- Findings are geotagged so maintenance teams know exactly where to go.
